July 15, 2009

This is the evolution of SQL Examiner Suite 2009. We proceed to develop support of Source Control Systems in our product. The new version also supports FILESTREAM properties, partitioning and Service Broker objects.

This version, as well as SQL Examiner Suite 2009 R3, was available at no cost to all users of SQL Examiner Suite 2009. For more information about those versions, see SQL Examiner Suite 2009 R3 Release Notes and SQL Examiner Suite 2009 Release Notes.

Added support for SVN and Perforce

To keep your databases under version control you can store the database schemas as sets of database creation scripts stored in your Source Control System. One of the features of SQL Examiner Suite 2009 and 2009 R2 is extended support of Source Control Systems. Now the new release of SQL Examiner supports not only TFS and SourceSafe but also SVN and Perforce. Since SVN is very popular, its support will help many specialists using SVN and SQL Examiner Suite.

Comparison speed in SQL Data Examiner was significantly improved

Data comparison was significantly speeded up. The new version of comparison engine compares data several times faster. It is especially noticeable on large databases.

FILESTREAM properties support

This new feature of SQL Examiner enables to compare and synchronize FILESTREAM properties. Since SQL Examiner does not synchronize file system, these files and file groups must be preliminary created.

Partitioning support

SQL Examiner 2009 R2 supports comparison and synchronization of partitioned schemas.

Service Broker objects support

SQL Examiner 2009 R2 supports comparison and synchronization of Service Broker objects.
